Introduction to Hand Coloring

Introduction to Hand Coloring: July 13 & 14, 2019
Introducing the new DSI Digital Silver Matte Fiber Print ®

You’ve taken a beautiful photograph and want to make it a one of a kind piece of art, but you are intimidated by the thought of picking up a paintbrush or colored pencil and enhancing your image. Hand coloring a black and white photograph is an art form all by itself. One that is much simpler and more accessible than you think. Laurie has created a process that is easy and accessible to all age groups and artistic abilities.

This hands-on, two-day course introduces you to the history, esthetics and technical aspects of hand coloring in a manner that is easy to master and mistake proof. This class will discuss taking photographs that are suited for hand coloring, selecting your materials, coloring techniques, and preserving your finished work. Students leave with at least 2 finished, fine art pieces of their own creation along, a hand coloring starter kit, and all the knowledge necessary to create on your own.
