Infrared photography offers the artistic photographer a path to creating a world of visual magic. However, it’s important to learn the rules of infrared, so you can go out and break them. Over five comprehensive days, renowned infrared specialist, Laurie Klein, and her longtime teaching partner, Shelley Vandegrift, show you how to do just that.

Under Laurie’s guidance, participants train their eyes to pre-visualize the qualities of infrared: how it records heat and how it interprets the visible spectrum. In the Workshops’ state-of-the-art Digital Lab, Shelley discusses technical concepts specific to infrared such as white balance, camera considerations, and post-processing requirements and techniques. At the end of the week, we print selected infrared images created during our time together.
